The East Africa Medical Assistance Foundation (EAMAF) is requesting assistance in the purchase of a C-arm Fluoroscopy machine for installation at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC).  This equipment will help the KCMC medical staff perform critical guided procedures on a wide variety of patients with different medical needs.

EAMAF is a Minnesota 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is To Improve Radiological Services and Related Medical Care in East Africa.  EAMAF’s activities are centered at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC), a full-service, 630 bed regional hospital located in Moshi, Tanzania, near the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. EAMAF’s mission recognizes that radiology is the heart of every hospital. The images produced through radiology are the key to enabling the diagnosis and treatment of hundreds of medical conditions, ranging from cancer to pre-natal defects. EAMAF also supports KCMC’s teaching programs, both monetarily and through arranging working visits by volunteer doctors from the U.S. and other countries. KCMC’s major teaching programs include the Kilimanjaro School of Radiology, the first radiology residency program in Tanzania, and a two-year training program awarding a degree as an Assistant Medical Officer (AMO).  Although not qualified as MDs, AMOs significantly broaden EAMAF’s outreach by working at remote medical facilities throughout Tanzania.
