Providing energy and water to rural villages is the key to human development in Africa. Without access to energy and clean water, there is no access to good education, or health care. Over 400 million people in Africa lack clean water, and over twice that number lack reliable electricity. Innovation: Africa is one of the most successful non-profit organizations to address these needs with a single solution: an efficient, durable, energy and water pumping system using integrated solar energy, battery back-up and water storage towers. For $65,000, this integrated solar and water system will completely transform the lives of thousands of families in rural sub-Sahara Africa.

Innovation: Africa's mission is to bring solar, water and agricultural innovations to rural African villages. Since its establishment in 2008, the organization has completed over 900 projects providing light and solar energy to schools and medical centers and crucially, pumping clean water to more than 4.2 million people across 10 African countries. Innovation: Africa maintains headquarters in the US and Israel and has projects across Uganda, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, Cameroon, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, and Eswatini.

A single $65,000 solar water pumping system can service a village of 10,000 people, providing clean drinking water, irrigation water for farming, and electricity for schools, medical centers and other needs. Innovation Africa has built over 900 solar water pumping systems across Africa since 2008, advancing the human capital of millions of people.

Innovation: Africa holds a Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2012 and has received several awards for its innovative approaches and sustainable impact in Africa.

Innovation: Africa has two types of projects that Splendonor supports:

1. Bringing light for schools and medical centers total cost of $20,000. In rural schools Innovation: Africa brings light to all classrooms and teacher’s homes as well as desks and computers for the first time.

2. Providing clean water to an African village of up to 10,000 inhabitants for $65,000. This includes costs for drilling, solar pump, solar panels, tanks, 10 km of piping, taps, a 10-meter tower, and remote monitoring. Visit the Innovation Africa website for more details.
